SAP Advanced Variant Configurator Consultant (Hybrid)

Global Enterprise Partners is currently looking for an experienced SAP Advanced Variant Configurator (AVC) Consultant for a freelance assignment supporting a leading organization in the Dutch energy sector, based in the Netherlands.

This role sits within an Enterprise Portfolio & Project Management (EPPM) environment and focuses on developing new SAP S/4HANA functionality that enables complex products and network adjustments to be planned and executed efficiently through projects and service orders.

This is a hands-on SAP consulting role, combining solution design, configuration expertise, and stakeholder collaboration. You will work closely with project management, portfolio management, engineering, and implementation teams to support large-scale transformation initiatives related to the energy transition.

Role Overview

As an SAP Advanced Variant Configurator Consultant, you will play a key role in translating complex network changes into executable SAP projects. Using SAP LO-VC and SAP AVC, you will help define what needs to be delivered and automatically generate how projects should be executed, planned, and staffed.

The role requires balancing deep SAP configuration expertise with a strong understanding of business processes, ensuring scalable, flexible templates that can be reused across multiple teams and project types.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, configure, and implement SAP S/4HANA solutions with a focus on SAP Advanced Variant Configurator (AVC) and LO-VC
• Translate business and project requirements into scalable SAP configuration models and templates
• Integrate Variant Configuration with SAP Project System (PS) and SAP Service Management
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including portfolio management, engineering, and work preparation
• Support end users through documentation, training sessions, and hands-on guidance
• Analyze, troubleshoot, and optimize existing SAP configurations and processes
• Ensure knowledge transfer by training a new team member who will eventually take over the role
• Contribute to continuous improvement within a rapidly evolving SAP landscape

Key Qualifications

• Proven experience with SAP S/4HANA
• Strong knowledge of SAP Variant Configuration, including:
  • SAP LO-VC
  • SAP Advanced Variant Configurator (AVC)
• Experience with SAP Project System and/or SAP Service Management (nice to have)
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
• Experience with training and knowledge transfer is a strong plus
• Fluent in Dutch (mandatory)
