To perform microtomy and related histological processes with precision, ensuring accurate specimen preparation and quality assurance. As part of the Microtomy Team, you will maintain high standards of practice while contributing to patient care and team efficiency.

Perform microtomy tasks, including sectioning cores and preparing specimens for routine and specialist staining.

Embed and clip specimens with precision, ensuring high-quality outcomes.

Conduct IQC for HEs and special stains, maintaining meticulous quality control records.

Collaborate effectively with the team to ensure optimal patient outcomes and workflow efficiency.

Apply routine and complex histological techniques with accuracy.

Ensure quality assurance protocols are followed to maintain high laboratory standards.

Contribute to a collaborative and supportive team environment.

Maintain compliance with laboratory safety, COSHH, and professional standards.

IBMS Specialist Portfolio in Pathology is desirable; candidates without may be considered for a Band 5 role depending on experience.
