This is a detail-focused role where organisation, accuracy and teamwork are essential to delivering an excellent service to our clients.RoleLocation: PrescotShift Pattern: Monday to Friday (08:00 - 16:00)Contract: Full Time & PermanentHours: 37.5Annual Salary: £25,850Closing Date: Thursday 9th July 2026The Day to DayReceive, unpack and process incoming samples, ensuring all details are checked and accurately recorded.Register samples and create jobs within our Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS).Verify client instructions, sample information and documentation to maintain full traceability.Prepare sample labels and route samples to the correct laboratory, preparation or storage area.Identify and escalate discrepancies such as damaged samples, missing information or incorrect documentation.Maintain accurate records, storage information and supporting documentation.Work closely with laboratory, inspection and administration teams to ensure the smooth flow of samples.Follow company quality procedures, health and safety standards and manual handling guidelines at all times.The EssentialsHighly organised with exceptional attention to detail.Able to follow procedures accurately and manage multiple priorities.Confident using IT systems, with the ability to learn LIMS and other business software.Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively across teams.Good literacy, numeracy and administrative skills.Understanding of the importance of quality, compliance and accurate record keeping.Previous experience in sample processing, laboratory administration or a similar operational environment is desirable.Experience with LIMS or laboratory systems would be advantageous.Employee Benefits Include:Attractive SalaryShift AllowanceLife Assurance25 days holiday, plus bank holidays6% employer pensionFree ParkingFree Staff CanteenWorking at ALSThe ALS team is a diverse and dedicated community united by our passion to make a difference in the world.Our values are important to us, and shape how we work, how we treat each other and how we recognise excellence.At ALS, you'll be supported to develop new skills and reach your full potential.
