Sales Director, Europe

Anritsu PQA (Product Quality Assurance) is a division of Anritsu operating mainly in the food and pharma industries that promotes a range of x-ray inspection, checkweigher, and metal detector technologies to advance and assure product quality. Food safety is a growing concern within the industry and Anritsu PQA offers world class leading technology.


The Sales Director for Europe is responsible for the overall design, productivity and effectiveness of the sales organization to achieve order goals. The position reports to the Managing Director with aligned collaboration with internal and external stakeholders to ensure the appropriate objectives and priorities are enabled within the sales organization.


This role manages all functions essential to sales force productivity. These include planning, reporting, quota setting and management, sales process optimization, sales job design, sales training, sales program implementation, key account (regional and global) management, sales compensation administration, and recruiting of sales force talent. On this role you will be a member of the European Leadership Team including the Managing Director of the European office.


Main responsibilities and duties:


  • Focuses the team's energy and efforts on providing a Positive Anritsu Customer Experience. (Deliver PACE)
  • Directs and supports the consistent implementation of company initiatives and culture development.
  • Builds peer support and strong internal-company relationships with other key management personnel.
  • Develops and implements strategic short- and long-term sales plans aligned with global corporate goals.
  • Reviews, designs and manages the current and ongoing sales channel strategy. Supports the equitable assignment of sales force territories and quotas.
  • Proactively monitors and strives to maintain high levels of quality, accuracy, and process consistency in the sales organization's planning efforts.
  • Implements enabling technologies, including SFDC, to field sales teams. Monitors the assigned sales organization's compliance with required standards for maintaining SFDC data.
  • Proactively identifies opportunities for sales process improvement.Works closely with District Managers to inspect sales process quality and prioritize opportunities for improvement.Facilitates an organization of continuous process improvement.
  • Monitors the accuracy and efficient distribution of sales reports and other intelligence essential to the sales organization. Recommends revisions to existing reports or assists in the development of new reporting tools as needed.
  • Coordinates training delivery to sales, sales management, and sales support personnel in the sales organization.
  • Communicates market analyses to business development and product management to determine customer needs, price schedules and discount rates.
  • Coordinates with marketing to assure proper communication to representatives, distributors and clients concerning sales and advertising techniques.
  • Analyzes sales statistics to formulate policy and assist dealers in promoting sales.
  • Represents Anritsu at trade association meetings and trade shows to promote the Anritsu brand and product.
  • Delivers sales presentations to key clients in coordination with sales representatives.
  • Meets with key clients, assisting sales representative with maintaining relationships and negotiating and closing deals.
  • Analyzes and controls expenditures of division to conform to CPO (cost per order) requirements.
  • Prepares monthly sales report showing sales volume, potential sales, and areas of proposed client base expansion.
  • Prepares sales strategy for ORB (original budget) and MYR (mid-year review) presentations.
  • Monitors and evaluates the activities and products of the competition.
  • Manages contracts of all independent sales channels.
  • Designs and manages annual sales conference for direct and indirect channels.
  • Manages all employees of the department and is responsible for the performance management and hiring of the employees within that department including Regional Sales Managers and Independent Sales Channels for Europe and the UK.
  • Operates in both a professional office, remote office and travelling environment (regular visits to HQ in Venlo are required)
  • Role requires up to 75% travel including international travel to Japan HQ planning meetings.



To join us in this key role you will need to possess these essentials:


  • 10 years in capital equipment sales, packaging and processing equipment industry
  • 5 years in a sales management position responsible for over $15 million in equipment sales annually.
  • International sales experience, with focus on distributor and channel management experience required.
  • A proven record of growing sales within the packaging equipment, inspection preferred, industry.
  • Proactive, Results driven and Customer centric individual with strong business acumen and remarkable problem solving and analytical skills who values teamwork
  • Fluent English (verbal and written)
  • Experience working with global organizations preferred
