Job Description
A rapidly growing transformer manufacturer is expanding its presence across Europe and is seeking an experienced commercial leader to drive market growth. This role offers the opportunity to establish and scale a transformer business across key European markets, working closely with developers, EPCs, utilities, industrial customers and data centre operators.
Key Responsibilities- Define and execute the European go-to-market strategy for MV and EHV transformers across priority markets and customer segments.
- Develop and expand relationships with utilities, renewable energy developers, EPC contractors, industrial customers and data centre operators.
- Lead complex sales pursuits, framework agreements and tender processes from qualification through contract award.
- Manage commercial negotiations, including pricing, terms, warranties and contractual risk.
- Collaborate with manufacturing and operations teams to align customer requirements, production capacity and delivery commitments.
- Ensure products and proposals comply with relevant European technical standards and customer specifications.
- Monitor market developments, competitive activity and industry demand drivers including grid expansion, renewable energy, battery storage and data centres.
- Provide regular pipeline, market and strategic updates to senior leadership.
- Support the long-term development of the European sales organisation, including future team growth and market expansion.
- More than 10 years of sales, business development or commercial leadership experience within transformers, switchgear, grid infrastructure or related electrical equipment sectors.
- Demonstrated success selling MV, HV or EHV transformer solutions across European markets.
- Strong network of contacts within utilities, renewable developers, EPCs, industrial customers and/or data centre operators.
- Proven ability to build new markets, grow regional businesses or expand commercial operations.
- Strong technical understanding of transformer products, specifications, industry standards and supply chain dynamics.
- Experience negotiating high-value commercial agreements.
- Fluent English and willingness to travel extensively throughout Europe.
- Experience working with international manufacturing organisations serving European customers.
- Exposure to renewable energy, battery energy storage systems (BESS), data centres or critical power markets.
- Degree in Electrical Engineering, Business, or a related discipline.
