Sales & Customer Service Operative - Cambridge - £26,500 - £36,500

Our client is seeking a motivated and customer focused Sales & Customer Service Operative to join their team in Cambridge. This is a varied role combining customer service, sales support, order processing and stock related duties within a busy agricultural and rural supplies environment. The successful candidate will enjoy working with customers, identifying sales opportunities and helping to ensure the smooth day to day operation of the branch.

• Providing excellent customer service both in person and over the phone
• Assisting customers with product enquiries and offering suitable recommendations
• Preparing quotations and following up sales opportunities
• Processing customer orders and keeping customers informed throughout the sales process
• Maintaining accurate sales and customer records
• Monitoring market trends and competitor activity
• Supporting stock ordering and helping to maintain product availability
• Working closely with warehouse, transport and administration teams to ensure efficient customer service
• Assisting with merchandising and maintaining an attractive retail environment
• Supporting trade shows, events and promotional activities as required
• Undertaking general branch duties to support the wider team

• Previous experience in a sales, customer service, retail or trade counter environment
• Strong communication and relationship building skills
• Good organisational skills and attention to detail
• A proactive and positive approach to work
• Confidence using computer systems and learning new software
• The ability to work effectively as part of a team
• Experience within agriculture, horticulture, merchanting or rural retail would be advantageous but is not essential

• Salary of £26,500 - £36,500 per annum DOE
