Job Description

We are excited to offer an excellent opportunity for a new Salaried GP to join our friendly and forward-thinking practice team!

The vacancy is for 4 to 6 sessions per week and with a salary range (depending on experience) of £98,000 to £112,000 per year (FTE equivalent).

We are looking for an enthusiastic and proactive General Practitioner with strong clinical and communication skills to join our team. Brook Medical Centre is a large, modern, and innovative practice caring for a patient population of approximately 15,500+.

We are a well-established, multi-disciplinary team of over 50 staff, working across two sites located in proximity, enabling strong teamwork and continuity of care. Our clinical team includes GP Partners, Salaried GPs, ANPs/ACPs, clinical pharmacists, and a highly skilled nursing and administrative team.

We pride ourselves on delivering high-quality, patient-centred care while embracing digital innovation and new models of working.

Main duties of the job
  • Deliver high-quality, patient-centred care through a mix of face-to-face, telephone, and digital consultations
  • Manage a structured daily workload of approximately 23 patient contacts per day (or around 20 plus a home visit, where required)
  • Undertake clinical triage and respond to patient requests via the practice's total triage system (Anima)
  • Assess, diagnose, and manage a wide range of acute and chronic conditions
  • Manage and action 2030 medication requests per session, alongside pathology results and clinical correspondence
  • Prescribe safely and effectively in line with local and national guidelines
  • Participate in a supported duty/on-the-day model, working alongside ANPs/ACPs and the wider team
  • Work collaboratively within a large multidisciplinary team, including pharmacists, nursing staff, and GP colleagues
  • Provide continuity of care, particularly for patients with complex or long-term conditions
  • Maintain accurate, contemporaneous clinical records using EMIS Web and associated systems
  • Contribute to practice priorities including QOF, enhanced services, and quality improvement activity
  • Engage in CPD, training, and where appropriate, supervision or mentoring of other staff

Qualifications
  • Fully qualified GP with MRCGP, CCT (or equivalent JCPTGP)
  • Full GMC registration and inclusion on the National Performers List
  • Appropriate medical defence indemnity (e.g. MPS/MDU)
  • Eligible to practise independently in the UK
  • Experience working in primary care, with evidence of ongoing CPD
  • Good understanding of the GMS contract, QOF, and clinical audit
  • High level of clinical knowledge and skills appropriate to an experienced GP
  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Strong IT skills, including use of clinical systems (EMIS/SystmOne/Vision) and Microsoft Office/Outlook
  • Effective time management, organisational, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
  • Experience in clinical audit, risk management, and adherence to clinical policies
  • Professional, reliable, and able to work under pressure
  • Flexible, cooperative, and patient-focused approach
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development
  • Willingness to work flexibly where required
  • Subject to satisfactory DBS check and Occupational Health clearance
  • Minimum of 2 years experience as a Salaried GP (or equivalent)
  • Demonstrable experience or a special interest in men's health (e.g. testosterone management, prostate health, sexual health)
  • Experience in medicines management
  • Experience of working with ICB initiatives and wider system working
  • Experience of leading or contributing to clinical audit programmes
  • Experience in clinical risk management
  • Interest in service development, quality improvement, or leadership within primary care
  • Experience supporting or supervising other clinicians or trainees
  • Familiarity with digital-first models of care and workflow optimisation
