We are looking for a Salaried GP to join our friendly and dynamic team.You must be fully qualified GP with GMC registration and inclusion on the NHSPerformers List. Have excellent communication and organizationalskills We offer flexible working arrangements with a choice of 10-15 minuteappointments with capped patient numbers per session. We are a trainingpractice with the opportunity to mentor and supervise. ST1/2/3 and medstudents and take part in delivering tutorials. This role is for 4 to 6 sessions per week with a salary from £11,200 per session

Main duties of the job Direct clinical care - Consulting withpatients (face-to-face, telephone and/or online as agreed). Assessing,diagnosing and managing acute illness and long-term conditions. Providinghealth advice, safety-netting and appropriate follow-up. Undertaking homevisits where part of the agreed model. Making referrals to secondary care andcommunity services when clinically indicated.

Indirect clinical care (clinicaladministration) - Reviewing and actioning test results and investigations. Processingclinical correspondence (hospital letters, discharge summaries). Completingreferrals, fit notes and other clinical documentation. Managing repeatprescribing and medication reviews (as per practice systems). Handlingclinical tasks/messages and ensuring appropriate coding and record-keeping.

Clinical governance, quality andsafety - Participating inSignificant Event Analyses (SEA)andlearning from incidents/near misses. Contributing toauditandqualityimprovementactivity (where feasible and relevant). Supporting safesystems (e.g. results handling, prescribing, recalls, safeguardingprocesses). Engaging with infection prevention and control (IPC) processesrelevant to clinical work. Responding to safety alerts (e.g. CAS/MHRA) inline with practice processes.

Job responsibilities The following are the core responsibilities of the Salaried GP indelivering health services.

a. The delivery of highly effective medical care to the entitledpopulation

b. The provision of services commensurate with the primary care contract

c. To clinically examine and assess patient needs from a physiologicaland psychological perspective and plan clinical care accordingly referringpatients to other services/agencies in a timely manner, utilising Practiceand any other local guidelines

d. Generic prescribing adhering to local and national guidance

e. Prioritise health problems and intervene appropriately to assist thepatient in complex, urgent or emergency situations, including initiation ofeffective emergency care

f. Effective management of long-term conditions

g. To support patients to adopt health promotion strategies that promotehealthy lifestyles and apply principles of self-care

h. Processing of administration in a timely manner, including referrals,repeat prescription requests and other associated administrative tasks

i. Review of medications following the appropriate policies, NICE/localclinical guidelines and local care pathways

j. Maintain accurate clinical records in conjunction with good practice,policy and guidance

k. Work collaboratively, accepting an equal share of the practiceworkload

l. Adhere to best practice recommended through clinical guidelines andthe audit process

m. Support the delivery of anticipatory care plans

n. Contribute to the successful implementation of continuous improvementand quality initiatives within the practice

Person Specification Qualifications

• Qualified GP
• MRCGP
• Vocational Training Certificate or equivalent JCPTGP
• Certificate of Completion of Training -CCT.

Experience

• Ability to both work autonomously and as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
• Experience of working in a primary care environment.
• Experience of providing home visits.
• General understanding of the primary care contract.
• Proven ability to evaluate the safety and effectiveness of own clinical practice.
• Minimum of two years as a salaried GP.
• An appreciation of the NHS landscape and relationship between individual organisations, PCNs and the commissioners.
• Full GMC registration.
• Performers List registration noting that confirmation on this list is adequate for DBS confirmation .
• England Conforms to the National Performers List and is able to perform any such service as detailed within Regulation 24 of the National Health Service (Performers Lists) (England) Regulations 2013.
• Evidence of current validation.
• Evidence of last appraisal.
• Eligibility to practice in the UK independently.
