Job Description
LeatsideHealth Centre is looking for an enthusiastic salaried GP, to join our friendly,and supportive team for a permanent contract. We are forward thinking and committedto providing multidisciplinary services for our local population. We are alsoan established training practice (with GP Registrars and Medical Students).

Weadopted the BMA recommendation of 25 x 15-minute appointments a couple of yearsago to help build a positive work live balance.

Wehold a daily coffee session, with the opportunity for clinical staff to discussany patient/clinical issues.

Weare a large busy surgery located in Redruth, Cornwall, and have a combined listof circa 16,700 patients, with 6 Partners.We are members of North Kerrier East PCN.

Main duties of the job Clinical Responsibilities:- In accordance with thePractice timetable, as agreed, the post-holder will make themself available to undertake a variety of duties includingsurgery consultations, telephone consultations and queries, visitingpatients.

Making professional, autonomous decisions in relation to presenting problems, whether self-referredor referred from other health care workers within the organisation.

Assessing the health care needs of patients with undifferentiated and undiagnosed problems.

Screening patients for diseaserisk factors and early signs of illness.

In consultation with patients and in line with currentPractice disease management protocols, developing care plans for health.

Providing counselling and health education.

Admitting or discharging patientsto and from the caseload and referring to other care providers as appropriate.

Recording clear and contemporaneous consultation notes to agreed standards.

Collecting data for audit purposes and complying with QOF requirements.

Compiling and issuing computer-generated acute and repeatprescriptions (avoiding hand-written prescriptions wheneverpossible).

Prescribing in accordance with the Practiceprescribing formulary (or generically) wheneverthis is clinically appropriate

In general the post-holder will be expectedto undertake all the normalduties and responsibilities associated with a GP workingwithin primary care

Person Specification Qualifications
  • MBBS or equivalent medical degree
  • Full registration with GMC
  • Certification of Completion of Training - JCPTGP-PMETB
