Salaried General Practitioner (ARRS Funded)

Following the addition of GPs to the ARRS Funding, ChorleyTogether PCN is looking to recruit a newly qualified, enthusiastic & forward-thinking GP to join our General Practice teams on a fixed-term contract until 31st March 2026.

Based at Whittle Surgery, 239 Preston Road, Chorley, this is a great opportunity to work alongside a multidisciplinary team at one of the largest growing practices within the PCN, serving approximately 11,550 patients. The role involves working 3-4 sessions per week on Thursdays and Fridays. Mentorship will be provided by Dr. Fairhurst, GP Partner at Whittle Surgery.

Main duties of the job

We seek a salaried GP to support our healthcare services and meet patient demands at one of our busiest practices. The post holder should be capable of traveling across the network independently and flexible to meet the needs of the service.

You will work as an autonomous general practitioner, independently assessing, diagnosing, and treating patients in a primary care setting. Providing expert advice to patients, carers, and colleagues while maintaining clinical excellence is essential. You will be professionally accountable for all aspects of your clinical practice, ensuring patient safety and high-quality care in accordance with the GMC code of conduct.

About us

Formed in May 2022, Chorley Together is a PCN serving approximately 38,000 patients across six GP practices:

  • Withnell Health Centre
  • Dr. Dawoud's Surgery
  • Whittle Surgery
  • Dr. Jacobs and Uddin
  • GAB Healthcare - Leyland Surgery and The Surgery, Chorley
  • Station Surgery

Our PCN and practice teams have a positive and supportive working relationship. This role offers an opportunity to further enhance our services.

Current PCN staff include Clinical Pharmacists, Social Prescribers, an Advanced Practitioner, Mental Health Practitioner, GP Assistants, an Enhanced Practice Nurse, Care Coordinators, Student Nurse Associates, and a Pharmacy Technician.

Located in Clayton-le-Woods, approximately 3 miles from Chorley Town Centre, Whittle Surgery is in a new purpose-built building with 12 consulting rooms, a large waiting area, admin offices, and onsite parking.

Qualifications
  • Qualified GP with CCT or equivalent
  • MRCGP
  • Vocational Training Certificate or equivalent JCPTGP
