Job Description

Occupli is seeking an experienced Safety Advisor to join a major client operating within the Utilities sector. Based in the Irish Midlands, this role will involve regular travel to various operational sites nationwide.

This is an initial 12-month contract with the potential for extension. The role is expected to ramp up from approximately three days per week initially to a full-time position as project requirements increase.

Requirements
  • Conduct safety and quality audits of contractors in line with agreed standards and reporting requirements.
  • Ensure audit findings, observations, and corrective actions are accurately documented and communicated.
  • Work proactively with client teams and management to implement and maintain effective health and safety processes and procedures.
  • Lead or contribute to investigations of contractor incidents, identifying root causes and recommending corrective actions.
  • Provide expert health and safety guidance and support to project teams, contractors, and stakeholders.
  • Build and maintain strong working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Act as a subject matter expert and resource for health and safety best practices across projects and operational activities.
  • Support teams in resolving complex health and safety issues and recommend practical solutions.
  • Monitor compliance with relevant legislation, industry standards, and company policies.
  • Deliver a high standard of customer service and professional support at all times.
  • Degree in Occupational Health & Safety (Level 8 minimum).
  • Minimum of 5 years' experience in a Safety Advisor role within the construction sector.
  • Strong knowledge of Irish health and safety legislation and industry best practices.
  • Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and report-writing skills.
  • Full, clean driving licence and willingness to travel nationwide.
  • Experience acting in or supporting PSCS and PSDP functions.
  • Traffic Management experience.
  • Experience within utilities, infrastructure, civil engineering, or related sectors.
