Position: Procurement Assistant - Full time, permanent, 36 hours per week.
Working hours: Monday Thursday 8:45 am - 5:00 pm; Friday 8:45 am - 3:30 pm.
Location: Newtownards Campus
Job PurposeThe Procurement Assistant will provide effective administrative and operational support to the College's procurement function, contributing to the efficient and compliant purchase of goods, services and works in support of the College's strategic and operational objectives.
The post holder will assist with day to day administration of procurement activities, supporting the procurement lifecycle from requisition through to order placement and contract administration, working closely with budget holders, suppliers and the Finance team to ensure compliance with financial regulations, public sector procurement legislation and DfE guidance.
The role supports value for money, transparency and audit compliance, contributing to effective financial governance within the College.
Essential Assessment Criteria- Hold five GCSEs (Grades A C) or equivalent, including English Language and Mathematics.
- Minimum of two years' experience providing administrative support within an office, finance, procurement or business support environment.
- Experience in procurement processes and financial governance (assessed at interview).
- Knowledge of public sector procurement legislation applicable in Northern Ireland (assessed at interview).
- Understanding of Department for the Economy guidance (assessed at interview).
- Strong organisational and communication skills (assessed at interview).
- 23 days annual leave + 12 public holidays (plus 6 additional annual leave days after five years' service).
