OverviewA leading rural consultancy team is seeking an experienced Rural Surveyor to join their Scotland division, with opportunities available up to Director level. This role suits someone with strong technical capability, commercial awareness and the confidence to deliver high quality advice across a diverse rural client base.
The position offers a blend of valuation, landlord & tenant work, access and rights matters, and wider rural consultancy. You'll work closely with a multidisciplinary team and have the opportunity to develop new business, lead on strategic projects and contribute to the continued growth of the Scottish rural practice.
Key Responsibilities Valuation & Professional Work- Deliver Red Book valuations for a wide range of rural and prime assets across Scotland.
- Provide valuation advice for tax, trust, loan security, financial reporting and expert witness purposes.
- Advise agricultural landlords and tenants on rent reviews, tenancy matters, assignments and relinquishments.
- Provide strategic guidance on long term asset and tenancy planning.
- Advise private clients on access, rights and rural property issues.
- Support estate management consultancy, including strategic planning and day to day advisory work.
- Work collaboratively with agency, research and other specialist teams.
- Identify and pursue opportunities for new valuation and consultancy instructions.
- Build strong professional relationships and contribute to the growth of the rural consultancy offering in Scotland.
- MRICS qualified (essential). FAAV qualification advantageous.
- Strong technical knowledge across rural property, valuation and professional work.
- Confident communicator able to engage effectively with a wide range of stakeholders.
- Skilled in managing conflict, negotiating and delivering clear resolutions.
- Commercially aware with the ability to adapt approach depending on client and context.
- Self motivated, organised and able to manage competing deadlines.
- Collaborative mindset with the ability to work effectively within a multi office team.
You'll join a well established rural consultancy team operating across Scotland, working alongside colleagues in Edinburgh, Aberdeen, Dumfries and Perth. The team is known for delivering high quality strategic advice and for investing in the development of its people.
