The business provides a broad range of specialist services across rural estate management, agriculture, property, land development, diversification and strategic asset management.

The Job Role

As Rural Partner, you will take responsibility for a diverse portfolio of estate management and professional work, building strong and lasting relationships with private landowners and estate clients. You will also support the ongoing growth and development of the department by identifying new business opportunities, developing client relationships and contributing ideas for future initiatives.

Key Responsibilities Client Management
  • Manage a varied portfolio of Private Estate clients, delivering both management and professional services.
  • Build trusted, long term relationships with landowners and Estate representatives, acting as a key point of contact.
  • Establish clear plans and priorities for each instruction, ensuring objectives are agreed and delivered effectively.
  • Identify opportunities to improve the performance of client Estates and introduce additional services where appropriate.
  • Provide regular updates and reports to clients and senior colleagues on progress, recommendations and outcomes.
  • Oversee budgets, expenditure and financial records in partnership with the Client Accounting team.
  • Undertake additional professional and advisory work as required.
Business Development & Growth
  • Support the wider business strategy and contribute to the continued growth of the Private Estates team.
  • Maintain a strong understanding of the rural property market, competitors and emerging opportunities.
  • Build and maintain an effective network of existing and prospective contacts.
  • Promote the full range of the firm's services and identify opportunities to introduce clients to other specialist teams.
  • Proactively develop new business opportunities and establish relationships with prospective clients.
  • Support regional marketing, networking and PR initiatives alongside the Marketing team.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues across different regional offices to identify and secure new instructions.
  • Maintain regular communication with other Private Estates teams to share opportunities, knowledge and best practice.
Client Relationship Management
  • Oversee the successful delivery of client instructions, ensuring work is completed to the required standard and within agreed timescales.
  • Develop strong relationships with landowners, professional advisers and other key stakeholders across the region.
  • Maintain regular communication with clients to understand changing requirements and identify opportunities to enhance the service provided.
  • Continuously look for ways to improve the client experience and strengthen long term relationships.
  • Contribute to the wider development, profile and commercial success of the Private Estates division.
  • Identify opportunities for collaboration and referrals across the wider business.
Internal Collaboration
  • Play an active role within the Private Estates team, helping to ensure high quality and efficient service delivery across the division.
  • Work closely with colleagues across the business to understand their expertise and identify opportunities for collaboration.
  • Build effective relationships with key teams and encourage the sharing of client knowledge and opportunities.
  • Collaborate with support functions including Finance, HR, IT and Marketing to ensure effective delivery of client services.
  • Contribute to initiatives designed to improve communication and collaboration between teams.
Quality & Compliance
  • Ensure all work is delivered in line with professional standards, company policies and industry best practice.
  • Keep up to date with legislation, regulations and technical developments relevant to Private Estates and rural property.
  • Maintain a consistently high standard of professional service and ensure appropriate processes are followed.
Financial Management
  • Monitor the financial performance of instructions and provide regular updates to senior colleagues.
  • Keep a close eye on outstanding fees and take appropriate action to minimise aged debt.
  • Manage the profitability of instructions, ensuring resources, time and budgets are used efficiently.
  • Identify opportunities to improve operational efficiency and commercial returns.
Professional & Technical Development
  • Maintain ongoing professional development and keep technical and commercial knowledge current.
  • Provide specialist guidance and support to colleagues where appropriate.
  • Share knowledge and expertise across the wider team to support professional development.
  • Contribute professional insight to divisional discussions and strategic initiatives.
  • Participate in relevant committees and professional groups where required.
Leadership & Team Development
  • Lead, support and develop direct reports, creating an environment where people can perform and progress.
  • Encourage open communication, collaboration and a positive team culture.
  • Provide regular feedback, coaching and guidance to team members.
  • Conduct performance and development reviews and support colleagues in achieving their career objectives.

Candidate Requirements
  • Qualified in rural practice (RICS) with extensive post qualification experience
  • Specialist in managing rural estates for Private clients
