About the Role

Ruminant Technical Advisor - supporting Nutreco's commercial team by delivering technical expertise in ruminant nutrition and farm management. The Advisor works closely with the Ruminant Account Manager team to improve animal performance, profitability, and sustainability through tailored nutritional solutions and on farm support.

Responsibilities
  • Provide technical support and nutritional advice to dairy, beef, and sheep farmers, feed mills, and key customers.
  • Partner with Ruminant Account Managers to identify opportunities, develop customer solutions, and support business growth.
  • Deliver technical presentations, training sessions, and customer workshops.
  • Support product launches, trials, demonstrations, and technical evaluations.
  • Build strong relationships with customers and industry stakeholders.
  • Maintain accurate customer records and provide technical insights to support commercial decisions.
  • Stay up to date with developments in ruminant nutrition, sustainability, and farming practices.
Qualifications
  • Essential
    • Degree or Higher Diploma in Animal Science, Agricultural Science, Dairy Science, Ruminant Nutrition, or related field.
    • 3+years' experience in ruminant nutrition, technical advisory, feed sales support, or livestock consultancy.
    • Strong knowledge of dairy, beef, and sheep production systems in Ireland.
    • Ability to interpret farm performance data and translate findings into practical recommendations.
    • Excellent communication, presentation, and relationship building skills.
    • Full clean driving licence and willingness to travel extensively throughout Ireland.
  • Desirable
    • MSc in Ruminant Nutrition, Animal Nutrition, or related discipline.
    • Experience working with feed formulation, rationing software, or nutritional modelling tools.
    • Knowledge of sustainability initiatives, emissions reduction, and efficiency programmes in ruminant production.
    • Previous experience supporting commercial/sales teams.
