RPG Senior Software Engineer (FTC)

We thrive on innovation and the ability to adapt, and we're looking for an RPG Senior Software Engineer to join us on an initial 6 month fixed term contract.

The Senior Software Engineer is responsible for the interpretation of system requirements into designs and the engineering and implementation of solutions. They also play a key role in investigating system issues and defects and providing solutions to the users reported issues.

The Senior Engineer will be hands on in Software Development activities however they will also spend a great deal of their time analysing requirements and problems to provide designs and solutions to our offshore Software Engineers to complete the coding activities. They are also our gatekeepers of quality. They will review and approve the code artefacts prior to release to testing.

We provide remote working options so are open to applications from across the UK. However, there will be an expectation to attend the Cardiff office when required.

To be successful in this role we're looking for the following technical skills/experience:

• Good IBM i knowledge
• Good IO/S knowledge
• Languages: CL, RPG/400, RPG IV, ILE, Free Format, SQL, IBM i Stored Procedures, MQ, Query/400
• Development Tools: RADi, Jira, Confluence, Rocket Aldon CMS for i
