Rock and Pop Music Teacher - Cheam

Department: Band Leaders

Employment Type: Full Time

Location: Greater London

Compensation: £30,000 - £35,000 / year

Description

Salary: £30,000 per annum with the potential to progress to £35,000 per annum

Company Bonus Scheme: £1,500 per annum based on performance & company performance. OTE earnings for year 1: £31,500

Start date: September 2026

Job Type: Full Time, permanent role

Experience: No teaching experience required - full training, support and development provided.

Transport: UK/EU Driving Licence and own transport essential.

Holiday: 11+ weeks paid holiday a year

Location: Teach across multiple schools in a regional area each week; the approximate centre point of this region is where this role is advertised.

Fuel: Fuel contributions in addition to salary

Responsibilities
  • Teach groups of primary-age children in a fun, inspiring rock and pop band format in up to 10 schools per week.
  • Give children their first opportunity to learn an instrument - you'll teach drums, guitar, bass, keyboard and vocals.
  • Work independently as part of a remote team of band leaders, supported by central teams.
  • Be a rock and pop star role model, empowering and supporting children to deliver live performances at end of term concerts.
  • Help children develop self belief, resilience and wellbeing through performing in a band.
  • Represent Rocksteady, building strong relationships with schools, teachers and parents.
  • Prepare for highly active days and spend time on the road driving between schools; load/unload equipment, set up and pack away at each location.
Qualifications
  • Competent on at least two of the following instruments: drums, guitar, bass, keyboard and vocals.
  • Enthusiastic to learn how to teach band lessons and complete extensive training before starting timetable.
  • Resilient to work in a role with great moments and great challenges in the same day.
  • Confident to be yourself at work and communicate equally well with children, teachers and parents.
  • Integrity to promote the safety and well being of children and young people.
  • Organised, independent worker with good time management and administration skills.
  • UK/EU driving licence and personal vehicle required to transport equipment and travel between schools.
