I'm currently working with a leading national law firm looking to hire an experienced Risk Lawyer into a new position within their established Risk & Compliance function.

They're looking for a qualified solicitor who enjoys the more advisory side of law firm risk, working closely with partners and senior stakeholders on regulatory, partnership and governance matters, alongside broader commercial risk work.

A key part of the role will involve supporting the firm on partnership matters, including lateral partner onboarding and retirements, partnership documentation and governance.

The Role?

• SRA Standards & Regulations, Principles and Codes of Conduct, alongside wider professional regulatory matters
• Client engagement terms, Outside Counsel Guidelines, panel terms and framework agreements
• Supplier agreements and other commercial documentation
• Firmwide policies, procedures and risk frameworks
• Strategic and operational risk matters
• Regulatory queries and engagement with relevant professional bodies

About you?

You'll be comfortable advising lawyers, partners and senior stakeholders on regulatory and wider risk matters, with a good understanding of the SRA Standards & Regulations and the practical issues that come with applying them within a law firm.

• Qualified Solicitor with 3+ years' PQE
• Previous law firm risk management experience
• Strong understanding of SRA regulation and professional conduct
• Experience advising on contractual arrangements within a law firm environment
• Commercially minded and comfortable working with senior stakeholders
• Able to manage competing priorities and give practical, solutions-focused advice
