This is an exciting time to join the Revenues and Benefits Department at Rotherham Borough Council.

We are looking to appoint 4 permanent Revenues, Benefits and Payments Assistants working either in the Debt Recovery team in Account Management or the Council Tax Team in Local Taxation. These teams are responsible for the delivery and collection of Council Tax, National Non-Domestic Rates, Benefits, Sundry Debts and Social Care payments service.

This is a high-volume call handling role, requiring confidence and efficiency in managing frequent inbound/outbound calls. In addition to call handling, you will be responsible for accurately processing and recording data across relevant systems, maintaining a high level of attention to detail. The role involves gathering and assessing information and evidence to support case processing, which may involve liaising with other services, agencies and authorities.

You must be able to work accurately, have an eye for detail and working knowledge of ICT is essential for this role. You must have proven literacy and numeracy skills and the ability to deal with customers both in person and over the phone.

We are looking for effective communicators who have the skill to make decisions and solve problems and recognise the importance of ensuring customer satisfaction.

We work within the Council's hybrid policy, offering a flexible approach to work remotely and in the office to accommodate the needs of the service.
