Job Description

We're looking for Christmas Retail Assistants to join our fantastic team of staff and volunteers and help us deliver a brilliant experience for our visitors throughout the festive period.

Salary: £12.75 per hour

Contract Duration: Fixed term until 4th January 2027

Working Hours: You'll work 15 hours per week. Because this is a seasonal role, availability during our busiest festive dates is really important. You should therefore be available to work key dates across Christmas and New Year, including Christmas Eve, Boxing Day and New Year's Day, as required.

For this role, you'll need to complete our online assessment instead of using a C.V. or online application form. This will help us understand more about your strengths and give you more information on the role.

What it's like to work here

Christmas is one of the most exciting and atmospheric times of year at Dunham Massey. As the property comes alive for the festive season and Christmas lights, our shop becomes particularly busy, welcoming visitors throughout the day and into the evening. Our main shop will have extended opening hours alongside the Christmas lights, remaining open until 8.30pm. The property is also open across the Christmas period, closing only on Christmas Day.

As a member of the retail team, you'll be offering visitors help and advice with their shopping. You'll have high standards of presentation in the shop while providing excellent service to all customers. This year, alongside our main shop, we will also be operating an additional Christmas pop-up shop within the house, so you may have the opportunity to work across both retail spaces.

You'll also be able to talk to them about how everything they buy helps to fund the work of the National Trust. Other duties may include arranging, receiving and unpacking deliveries, creating shop displays and working with others in the team to keep the shop floor clean and organised.

You can view the full role profile for this role in the document attached. Youdon'tneed to haveallthe knowledge, skills and experience listed in the role profile; this is just to provide a full picture ofwhat'spossible in this role.
