About the role

Our Retail Media business is growing this year, and we are on a transformation journey, working with some of the best global brands. As a Media Sales and Planning Specialist, you will work with Buyers and CPGs to understand details of commercial agreements and the value of supplier funds to be spent against internal and external assets. In this key role, you will collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders, suppliers, and the wider Media Sales and Planning team to ensure supplier investments are planned and realized using the right tools and processes that support delivery and maximize returns for both John Lewis and our brand partners.

Salary

£35,000.00 - £55,400.00

Expected salary

£35,000 to £42,000 dependent on experience

Contract type

This position is a Permanent contract.

Working pattern/flexible working

The Partnership has adopted a hybrid working approach, allowing a mixture of office and home-based work, based on personal needs and business requirements. The team aims for around 1 day a week in the office for connection and 2 days a week engaging with brands on an ad-hoc basis for key meetings.

Location

This role is based at our Pimlico Head Office.

Key responsibilities

Our Retail Media business is expanding, and we are on a transformation journey. As a Media Sales and Planning Specialist, you will work with Buyers and CPGs to understand commercial agreements and the value of supplier funds for internal and external assets. You will collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders, suppliers, and the wider Media Sales team to ensure investments are planned and realized effectively, supporting delivery and maximum returns for John Lewis and our brand partners.

Essential skills/experience you'll need
  • Negotiation skills with a proven track record of meeting & exceeding targets
  • Experience working directly with brands to develop and sell activation plans (preferably media or marketing related)
  • Strong stakeholder management skills to influence at all levels and deliver optimal outcomes
  • Data-led planning experience with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively
Desirable skills/experience you may have
  • Media Sales experience of exceeding revenue targets
  • Experience working with marketing teams selling media assets
  • Understanding marketing assets, valuing them, and negotiating prices
  • Digitally savvy, experienced with on-site media (e.g., AdTech)
