We are recruiting for a Restorative Justice Co-ordinator to join our well- established Youth Justice Team.

The Youth Justice team work in close partnership with colleagues in the Adolescent Service, such as the Adolescent Social Work team and Functional Family Therapy, as well as partners in Police, Probation, Children's Services, Education, Health, Community Safety and the voluntary sector.

We work closely with the Courts and criminal justice partners to ensure children are not unnecessarily criminalised and receive appropriate support to enable them to understand and participate in youth justice processes.

We are looking to recruit a motivated, creative restorative justice co-ordinator who is committed to leading best practice in victim work and the delivery of restorative interventions. We are looking for someone with the enthusiasm and expertise to make a difference to victims and communities.

Our model of practice is relationship-based and trauma -informed, aligned with evidence- based approaches to youth justice.

As a Restorative Justice Co-ordinator, you will be responsible for overseeing restorative work in the service, as well as recruiting, training and supervising volunteers for Referral Order panels.

You will need to have substantial experience working with children or young people in a statutory setting and be adept at assessing risk and need and responding to changing circumstances. You will need an understanding of child safeguarding procedures and ideally have some experience of risk management. The role requires excellent communication skills, both verbal and written and the ability to risk assess situations dynamically and respond appropriately.

Additional information

Your starting salary will be pro rata if the above position is less than 37 hoursor term-time only.
