Salary: £25,344 per annum + £70 per sleep-in + overtime
Hours: 160 hours per month
Contract: Full-Time, Permanent
Essential: Full UK Driving Licence

We are recruiting Residential Support Workers to join established Ofsted-registered children's residential homes across Birmingham.

As a Residential Support Worker, you will provide day-to-day care and support to children and young people, helping to create a safe, stable and nurturing home environment.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Supporting and safeguarding children and young people
• Building positive and professional relationships
• Supporting young people with emotional and behavioural needs
• Managing challenging behaviour and using appropriate de-escalation techniques
• Following care plans, risk assessments and behaviour support plans
• Supporting education, independence and daily living skills
• Organising and participating in activities and community outings
• Driving young people to school, appointments and activities
• Completing accurate daily records and documentation
• Working closely with colleagues, families and external professionals

You will work 160 contracted hours per month, which is approximately 11 shifts per month.

Shifts are typically 8:00am-11:00pm, with working days varying according to the rota.

Sleep-ins are required, although the number will vary depending on the rota. Each sleep-in is paid at an additional £70.

The £25,344 salary is the basic annual salary before sleep-in payments and overtime.

Overtime is available, including opportunities to pick up additional shifts across the organisation's other homes.

We are looking for candidates who are caring, resilient, reliable and passionate about supporting children and young people.

A full UK driving licence is essential.

Previous experience within children's residential care is desirable but not essential, as full training can be provided to suitable candidates.

You must be flexible to work weekends, sleep-ins and across the organisation's Birmingham homes when required.

Relevant Level 3 childcare qualifications are desirable, although candidates may be supported to work towards an appropriate qualification where required.
