Residential Property Solicitor

Full-time Office-based, Hybrid Working or Fully Remote Haywards Heath, Mid-Sussex

Basic salary: £45,000 - £65,000 per annum (depending on experience)
Bonus: 20% of billing above £180,000 per annum
Commission: 15% of any work introduced to the firm

Jonathan Lea Network (JLN) is seeking a proactive and client-focused Residential Property Solicitor to join our growing team.

The Role

You will manage your own residential property caseload, acting as the primary point of contact for clients, estate agents and lenders.

Your work will include:

• Freehold and leasehold sales and purchases
• New build transactions
• Remortgages
• Transfers of equity
• Lease extensions and variations
• Shared ownership matters
• Acting for both individuals and investors

You will have autonomy from day one, supported by a collaborative team and modern systems designed to streamline workflow and enhance efficiency.

The role offers scope to develop estate agent and introducer relationships and contribute to the continued growth of the department.

Key Responsibilities Include

• Managing a varied residential conveyancing caseload from instruction to completion
• Providing clear, proactive and commercially aware advice to clients
• Liaising effectively with estate agents, brokers and lenders
• Meeting deadlines and managing transactions efficientlySupervising junior staff where appropriate
• Taking introductory calls and converting new enquiries
• Engaging with AI and legal technology embedded in JLN's working practices
• Contributing to networking and business development initiatives

The Ideal Candidate

You will be:

• A qualified solicitor with experience in residential conveyancing
• Confident managing files independently
• Organised, responsive and solution focused
• Commercially aware and client focused
• Comfortable working in a fast paced environment
• Open to innovation and working in a tech enabled firm
• Someone who enjoys being part of a collaborative team

Existing estate agent or broker relationships would be advantageous but are not essential.

Location

This role is best suited to candidates based in Surrey, Sussex or Kent, with flexibility to attend our Haywards Heath office where appropriate.

However, we are open to considering strong candidates from further afield who wish to work on a fully remote basis.
