Job Description

Our client is a established and well-regarded law firm in Plymouth and on their behalf we are seeking a Residential Property Paralegal to join their busy and supportive property team.

This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated and organised individual with experience in residential conveyancing to further develop their career within a reputable legal practice. The successful candidate will provide valuable support to fee earners across a broad range of residential property matters, helping to ensure transactions progress smoothly and clients receive a high level of service throughout.

The role will involve assisting with sales, purchases, remortgages, transfers of equity and other residential property transactions from instruction through to completion. Duties will include opening files, preparing and issuing client care documentation, carrying out searches, liaising with clients, estate agents, lenders and other solicitors, preparing contract packs, dealing with enquiries, updating clients, and providing general administrative and legal support to the wider team.

The firm is looking for someone with previous experience working within a residential conveyancing department. The successful candidate will be confident dealing with clients and third parties, have strong attention to detail, and be able to manage a varied workload in a fast-paced environment. Excellent communication, organisation and IT skills are essential.

This role would suit a proactive and reliable Residential Property Paralegal who is keen to build on their existing conveyancing experience and become part of a friendly, professional and growing firm.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assisting fee earners with a varied caseload of residential property matters
  • Supporting transactions including sales, purchases, remortgages and transfers of equity
  • Opening and maintaining files in line with firm procedures
  • Preparing client care letters and associated documentation
  • Ordering searches and reviewing incoming documentation
  • Liaising with clients, estate agents, lenders, solicitors and other third parties
  • Preparing contract packs and assisting with enquiries
  • Updating clients and ensuring matters progress efficiently
  • Providing administrative and legal support to the property team
Candidate Requirements
  • Previous experience within a residential conveyancing department
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to prioritise workload effectively
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Confident communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Professional and client-focused approach
  • Ability to work well as part of a team
  • Good IT skills and experience using case management systems would be advantageous
