Residential Development Solicitor (Site Set Up) 3+ PQE Leading National Firm Birmingham/Hybrid Working

BCL Legal is delighted to be working with a leading national law firm as it seeks to grow its highly respected Residential Development team in Birmingham. The team is now looking to recruit a talented Site Set Up Solicitor with at least 3 years' post-qualification experience and a strong background in residential development projects, particularly site set up work.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced solicitor looking to join a forward-thinking firm with a stellar client base, including the top UK housebuilders. The team is nationally recognised for its specialism in residential development and offers a collaborative, high-performing environment where career progression is actively supported.

The Role

As a Site Set Up Solicitor in this Residential Development team, you will work with minimal supervision and manage your own caseload, playing a key role in major residential schemes from acquisition through to set up. Your responsibilities will include:
- Managing complex freehold and leasehold residential development site set ups.
- Drafting and negotiating key infrastructure agreements, including section 104, 38 and 278 agreements.
- Advising on mixed-use, consortium, and phased developments with varying management structures.
- Liaising closely with clients to deliver commercial, solutions-focused advice on site structuring.
- Supporting and mentoring junior team members and working collaboratively across the wider residential team.
- Engaging in business development and maintaining strong client relationships.

Candidate Requirements

The ideal candidate will have:

- 3+ years' PQE with a focus on residential development and site set up work.
- Demonstrable experience working with national housebuilders and residential developers.
- Strong technical knowledge, including infrastructure agreements and large-scale plot development schemes.
- Excellent time management and organisational skills, with the ability to manage deadlines and competing priorities.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the confidence to work directly with clients.
- A proactive, commercially-minded, and adaptable approach to legal practice.
