Residential Conveyancing Locum - South West

A well-established private legal firm in the South West is seeking an experienced Residential Conveyancing Locum to support its busy property team. This is an excellent opportunity to join a collaborative environment where strong client relationships and high-quality service are at the heart of everything they do.

You will take ownership of your own residential conveyancing caseload, supported by experienced colleagues and three highly skilled Legal Secretaries. This structure allows you to focus on delivering exceptional client service rather than administrative tasks.

The role is primarily office-based Devon, with some flexibility and hybrid working available where appropriate.

• Managing a full residential conveyancing caseload from instruction through to completion, including:
  • Freehold and leasehold sales and purchases
  • Registered and unregistered land
  • Re-mortgages and transfers of equity
  • Easements, plot sales and deeds of gift
• Delivering excellent client care
• Working closely with Legal Secretaries to ensure files progress efficiently
• Building and maintaining strong relationships with clients and referrers
• Handling billing, file management, and compliance (SRA & CQS)
• Collaborating with colleagues across the firm and contributing to the growth of the department

Essential:

• Qualified Solicitor or Chartered Legal Executive
• Proven experience managing a residential conveyancing caseload
• Strong organisational and time-management skills
• Confident communication and client-facing ability
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team

Desirable:

• 3-5 years' PQE
• CQS accreditation
• Experience with case management systems
• Previous supervision or mentoring experience
• Full, clean driving licence
