Resident Medical Officer

We are currently recruiting for a Resident Medical Officer for a hospital in Limerick, Ireland.

This is a full-time (39 hours per week), permanent position offering an excellent opportunity to work within a dynamic healthcare environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Participate in morning and evening ward rounds alongside the Consultant.
  
• Provide perioperative care on surgical wards, primarily managing post-operative complications.
  
• Contribute to establishing and monitoring measurable standards of care, ensuring accountability for maintaining these standards.
  
• Stay informed about National Quality Improvement Programmes and ensure compliance at all stages of patient care within the hospital.
  
• Perform Cardiac Arrest management and other emergency procedures in line with hospital policies.
  
• Ensure delivery of competent, compassionate, and efficient patient care through continuous monitoring and evaluation of care processes and outcomes.
  
• Demonstrate strong interpersonal, communication, and leadership skills when interacting with patients, families, and multidisciplinary teams.
  
• Maintain consistently high standards of patient care at all times.
  

• MB, BCh, BAO or equivalent recognised by the Irish Medical Council
  
• Be registered with the Irish Medical Council (essential)
  
• Current BLS / ACLS training certificate.
  
• 3 years relevant experience within an adult acute hospital setting (Essential)
  
• Possess demonstratable relevant work experience as an independent practitioner at registrar level. (Essential)
  
• Experience of liaising and collaborating with senior level nursing. (Essential)
  
• Evidence of strong clinical leadership resulting in high clinical standards. (Desirable)
  
• Evidence of leading change & reform. (Desirable)
