Job Specification: Resident CSA Engineer (Pharma Sector) Job Overview
  • Role: Resident CSA (Civil, Structural, Architectural) Project/Site Engineer
  • Location: Cork, Ireland (On-site at Multinational Pharmaceutical Client Facility)
  • Employment Type: Permanent / Full-Time (Staff position via Consultancy)
  • Reporting To: Consultancy Project Director / Client Capital Projects Manager
Key Responsibilities
  • Act as the primary resident engineering bridge between the multidisciplinary consultancy and the client's on-site capital projects team.
  • Supervise and coordinate civil, structural, and architectural construction and modification activities on a live, highly regulated pharmaceutical campus.
  • Review and manage CSA design changes, constructability reviews, and technical submittals from concept through to commissioning and handover.
  • Monitor contractor performance on-site to verify strict compliance with project scope, agreed timelines, and construction budgets.
  • Ensure all works adhere to Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP), local building regulations, BCAR compliance, and stringent site EHS (Environment, Health, and Safety) protocols.
  • Facilitate multidisciplinary integration, coordinating directly with mechanical, electrical, and process utility engineering teams.
Candidate Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, Architecture, or a related discipline.
  • Experience: 3 to 7 years of relevant engineering or construction management experience, ideally gained within a multidisciplinary consultancy or regulated life sciences/pharmaceutical environment.
  • Technical Skills: Strong proficiency in reading and interpreting complex architectural drawings, structural specifications, and project schedules.
  • Regulatory Knowledge: Familiarity with cGMP, cleanroom environment requirements, and Irish statutory planning/building regulations.
  • Communication: Exceptional stakeholder management skills with a client-facing, proactive, and diplomatic approach to on-site problem-solving
