Overview:

Sentara Heart Hospital, located on the campus of Sentara Norfolk General Hospital, is seeking a Registered Research Nurse.

The Research Nurse manages and coordinates all aspects of conducting clinical trials, both clinically and administratively. Utilizes in-depth knowledge of protocol requirements to ensure proper conduct of studies according to protocol guidelines, departmental standards, and good clinical practices set by federal regulations. Responsibilities include recruitment, screening, enrollment, follow-up of subjects, and maintaining accurate regulatory documentation. Participates in writing, presenting, and publishing study results. Acts as a liaison between Investigators, IRB, and the Sponsor regarding protocols.

Education:

• Associate's Degree or Diploma in Nursing (required)
• Bachelor of Science Nursing (BSN) or MSN (preferred)

Certification/Licensure:

• Virginia RN License or Multi-State License (Virginia or Compact)
• All Direct Care RNs must have BLS within 90 days of hire
• Specialty certification (CCRP, ACRP-CP, or CCRC) required within 3 years of employment

Experience:

• Minimum of 2 years research nursing experience required
