Research Assistant - Knowledge Exchange Training Review
Posted 4 hours 16 minutes ago by Keystone Employment Group LLP
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Research Assistant to provide support in the development of a training matrix for Queen Mary?s Knowledge Exchange (KE) training provision. This role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to the improvement of KE support across the university, working closely with multiple teams.
Background
A number of teams provide KE relevant training across the university, including the Doctoral College, Business Development, Centre for Public Engagement, QM Innovation, Mile End Institute and the Impact team. There have been recent efforts to bring information across teams together on the KE and Impact Sharepoint site , with a particular success being the creation of a page containing information on all internal KE and impact funding. However, the site does not currently include a comprehensive training offer. As a result, it can be difficult for researchers to navigate our training offer or identify the resources they need.
The KE Training Task & Finish Group has been convened with the following objectives:
- Bring together information on all existing university training into one centrally accessible point, with the option for researchers to filter based on specialism.
- Review the training pathways within our current training offer, ensuring that we cater for people at different career stages and disciplines, with recommendations about how we enhance pathways or fill gaps.
- Look at how we fill the gaps, including establishing a programme of introductory KE training spanning across the university.
Key Responsibilities
So far, we have conducted a needs and gaps analysis of our current KE training offer, based on a range of researcher personas. We now need support to:
- Conduct further research on current training offers across teams, either via email, surveys or 1-1 interviews with KE teams
- Conduct further research on KE skills needs, either via email, surveys or 1-1 interviews with researchers
- Analyse findings to develop a KE training matrix, outlining the KE skills needed, where our current training offer meets those needs, where there is potential overlap between teams, and where we have gaps in our training provision.
- Present findings in a report which can be shared with our Knowledge Exchange Board for sign off and next steps.
Qualifications
This position would suit a Queen Mary Postgraduate.
Skills
- Experience in research methods, data analysis, and report writing.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Proficiency with tools such as Microsoft Office, data analysis software, and online collaboration platforms.
- Self-motivated and capable of working independently as well as in a team environment.
This role is required for 14 hours a week until the end of August. Flexible working hours and remote working is available.
