Your future roleThe role involves technical & commercial management of requirements, focusing on supporting the management of the Technical Specification in DOORS (Dynamic Object-Oriented Requirements System) for a high-speed project. Responsibilities include understanding and linking the interface register to Customer Technical Specification clauses and managing technical contract movement with the commercial management team. Contract management of the MSA (Manufacture & Supply Agreement) and purchaser/manufacturer change notifications (PCN/MCN) for design changes, linking these with Requirements in DOORS up to Critical Design Gate (CDR) (design freeze).
Key responsibilities- Manage the schedule of requirements management activities, identify conflicts, risks, and manage contract changes to meet commitments.
- Import technical content and manage contract changes in DOORS as part of the Engineering V-Cycle.
- Provide process, method & tool training, support requirement quality reviews, and assist users with the tool.
- Report on contract movement (KPI) for the project.
- Support various project stakeholders in clarifying, cleaning, and allocating requirements, and defining means of proof.
- Capture and manage contract interface changes.
- Communicate and propagate requirements to modules.
- Liaise with the Commercial team on all technical movements via controlled change notifications (CR).
We value passion and attitude over experience. While not all skills are required, the following will help you succeed:
- System Engineering experience, preferably in Railway products
- Experience using DOORS
- Knowledge of rolling stock (vehicle)
- Ability to understand and interpret requirements in context
- Understanding of interfaces (ICDs) and their impact on design and customer requirements
- Understanding of contract construction (MSA)
- Experience in the Rail Industry (preferred)
- Awareness of rail vehicle certification (beneficial)
