Hays are working with a leading housing association in London who are committed to providing safe, secure, and well-maintained homes for their residents. Hays are looking for a skilled and proactive Repairs Surveyor to join the Property Services team, focusing on complex disrepair and damp & mould cases across the London housing stock.

Your new role

As a Repairs Surveyor, you'll play a vital role in diagnosing and resolving property issues that significantly impact the housing association residents' quality of life. You'll manage a caseload of disrepair claims and damp & mould reports, ensuring timely, effective, and customer-focused solutions.

What you'll need to succeed

Conduct thorough property inspections to assess disrepair and damp/mould issues.

Prepare detailed reports, including schedules of work and cost estimates.

Liaise with legal teams on disrepair claims and ensure compliance with relevant legislation.

Oversee contractors and ensure works are completed to a high standard.

Provide expert advice to residents and internal teams on preventative measures.

Maintain accurate records and contribute to continuous service improvement.

Proven experience in a similar surveying role, ideally within social housing.

Strong knowledge of building pathology, especially damp & mould diagnostics.

Familiarity with disrepair legislation and housing standards.

Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

Relevant qualifications (e.g., HNC/HND in Building Surveying or equivalent).

Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle (desirable).
