Hays are working with a leading housing association in London who are committed to providing safe, secure, and well-maintained homes for their residents. Hays are looking for a skilled and proactive Repairs Surveyor to join the Property Services team, focusing on complex disrepair and damp & mould cases across the London housing stock.

Your new role

As a Repairs Surveyor, you'll play a vital role in diagnosing and resolving property issues that significantly impact the housing association residents' quality of life. You'll manage a caseload of disrepair claims and damp & mould reports, ensuring timely, effective, and customer-focused solutions.

What you'll need to succeed

  • Conduct thorough property inspections to assess disrepair and damp/mould issues.
  • Prepare detailed reports, including schedules of work and cost estimates.
  • Liaise with legal teams on disrepair claims and ensure compliance with relevant legislation.
  • Oversee contractors and ensure works are completed to a high standard.
  • Provide expert advice to residents and internal teams on preventative measures.
  • Maintain accurate records and contribute to continuous service improvement.
  • Proven experience in a similar surveying role, ideally within social housing.
  • Strong knowledge of building pathology, especially damp & mould diagnostics.
  • Familiarity with disrepair legislation and housing standards.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Relevant qualifications (e.g., HNC/HND in Building Surveying or equivalent).
  • Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle (desirable).
