Repair and Production Specialist

As a Repair and Production Specialist within the HUMS team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safety, quality, and efficiency of repair and production operations for advanced aerospace monitoring systems. You will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining HUMS components, collaborating with cross-functional teams to meet delivery schedules, and optimising processes to reduce costs while adhering to GE Aerospace's priorities.
This position requires a strong technical background, attention to detail, and a commitment to continuous improvement to support the reliability and performance of HUMS products.
Job DescriptionKey Responsibilities:
- Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair HUMS components to ensure optimal performance and reliability.
- Perform inspections and testing of repaired systems to meet quality standards.
- Collaborate with engineering, production, and quality teams to resolve technical issues and improve processes.
- Maintain detailed records of repair activities, including documentation of findings and corrective actions.
- Ensure compliance with safety protocols and regulatory requirements during all repair and production activities.
- Support production operations by assembling, calibrating, and testing HUMS systems and components.
- Identify opportunities for process improvements to enhance efficiency and reduce costs.
- Train and mentor team members on repair techniques and best practices.
Required Skills:
- Strong technical aptitude with the ability to diagnose and repair complex systems.
- Proficiency in using diagnostic tools, testing equipment, and repair techniques.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Ability to interpret technical drawings, schematics, and manuals.
- Familiarity with lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies.
Experience:
- Strong experience in repair, maintenance, or production roles, preferably in aerospace or a related industry.
- Hands-on experience with electronic systems, sensors, or monitoring equipment is highly desirable.
- Experience working in a regulated environment with a focus on quality and safety standards.
Qualifications:
- Engineering degree, diploma or equivalent and/or relevant experience
- Knowledge of Health and Usage Monitoring Systems (HUMS) or other similar electronics engineering technologies is a plus.
- Familiarity with industry standards and regulations (e.g., FAA, EASA) is advantageous.
- Ability to lift and handle equipment as required by the role.
