Based in our Naas/Kill office, Howden Ireland are delighted to have a vacancy as a Renewal Account Handler for our Wholesale Commercial book of business that will be an integral part of our wider Commercial team.

About the role:

Reporting to the Team Leader the successful Renewal Account Handler will primarily focus on managing a portfolio of commercial insurance renewals, maintaining strong relationships with brokers and insurers, and ensuring excellent service delivery while adhering to company procedures and regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

• Take ownership of and proactively manage a designated monthly renewal portfolio, ensuring renewal targets are met.
• Manage all aspects of the policy lifecycle including MTAs and account queries ensuring accuracy and efficiency at all times.
• Review policy documentation and insurer quotations, ensuring accuracy and compliance with client requirements.
• Deliver a high standard of service by responding promptly and professionally to broker queries.
• Work closely with Account Executives on larger or more complex renewals, assisting with market presentations, quotations, and renewal strategies.
• Maintain accurate records and file documentation in accordance with company procedures and regulatory standards.
• Ensure all compliance, governance, and internal procedures are adhered to.
• Work proactively with brokers and internal teams to ensure premium collections are made within agreed credit terms.
• Maintain an up-to-date knowledge of insurance products, market developments, insurer appetite, and company procedures.

About You:

• 1-3 years experience working within a commercial insurance broking or underwriting environment.
• Experience handling commercial liability and property policies is desireable.
• Strong knowledge of commercial insurance products and market practices.
• Minimum APA qualification.
• Currently working towards or committed to obtaining CIP qualification.
• Ability to build and maintain strong relationships with clients to ensure high levels of satisfaction and retention.
