REMOTE Java Software Engineer (Developer Programmer Java Python Automation Data Lake Big Data SQL Finance Trading Contract Contractor Consultant Banking Remote Working Financial Services Front Office Remote) required by our financial services client in Lisbon, Portugal.

You MUST have the following:

• Good experience as a Java Software Engineer/Developer/Programmer
• Knowledge of trading data pipelines; Front Office finance
• Excellent communication skills, ability to work with the business
• Enterprise-scale SQL or Oracle
• Agile

The following is DESIRABLE, not essential:

• Amazon Web Services (AWS)
• Fixed Income

Role: REMOTE Java Software Engineer (Developer Programmer Java Python Automation Data Lake Big Data SQL Finance Trading Contract Contractor Consultant Banking Remote Working Financial Services Front Office Remote) required by our financial services client in Lisbon, Portugal. You will join a new team that is being assembled to build a new data management platform on AWS. The greenfield project will include the automation of data catalogue population and the implementation of data governance policies. You will be part of a three person team and later joined by other team members later this year. It will be a project of 2-3 years and will be fully remote. As a small team, you will also be involved in design, DevOps and testing and business analysis, collaborating and holding meetings with the business.

As you will be working directly with the business to understand their requirements, you need a foundation in understanding of finance. This will be working with order or execution management systems, brokerage products, market risk applications or PnL analysis: essentially you need to have worked with trading data feeds. You do not need to have worked with Fixed Income (bonds) specifically.

Later in the project, there may be some exposure to Apache Iceberg and Kafka. There will be no obligation to go to the company's offices.

Hours are 8.30am - 5.30pm.

Duration: 12-24 months

Rate: €450- 565/day
