JobRole: Relief Cleaning Operative

Working Hours: Zero hours

Pay: £13.45 per hour

Location: Wellington House - Wellington Street, Barnsley, S70 1WA

Reporting to: Operations Manager

Overview

An exciting opportunity has arisen at Anchor Group Services for an experienced cleaner to join the site cleaning team at Wellington House (Barnsley) as a Relief Cleaning Operative. The successful candidate will be required to carry out a range of cleaning tasks, safely and professionally, to a high standard. You must be able to demonstrate good attention to detail, have the ability to communicate on all levels and possess a proactive and positive attitude. This is a relief position on a zero hour contract to provide site cover, therefore the successful candidate must be flexible and available to cover annual leave, sickness absence, and other operational needs as required. Shift times start from 5:00 am, so you must be able to reliably commute to S70 1WA for as early as 5:00 am.

Duties include:

  • Cleaning of designated areas, ensuring the agreed cleaning specification is completed, as per the site instructions
  • Emptying bins, ensuring recycled waste is disposed of correctly
  • Attending to spillages by making sure they are cleaned up within an efficient timeframe to prevent accidents and ensure site and staff safety
  • Following H&S and COSHH regulations
  • Use of site specific equipment, machinery and handling chemicals
  • Proactive interaction with on site clients and customers, offering superb customer service
  • Carrying out any other reasonable management requests
Requirements
  • Good attention to detail
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and use initiative
  • Flexibility to cover shifts as and when required
  • Reliable and responsible with a flexible approach to work
