We are recruiting on behalf of our client for an In-House Regulatory Lawyer to join their team in Birmingham. This is an exciting opportunity for a qualified solicitor with expertise in regulatory law to provide high-quality legal representation and advocacy in complex cases.
As part of this role, you will represent members in regulatory hearings, disciplinary tribunals, and Coroner's Courts, while providing strategic legal advice on fitness to practise investigations and professional conduct matters. You will also collaborate with internal teams and external counsel to ensure robust case management.
Key Responsibilities:
- Represent members in regulatory hearings, disciplinary tribunals, and Coroner's Courts.
- Conduct advocacy before professional regulatory bodies and in coronial proceedings.
- Provide expert legal advice on fitness to practise investigations and professional conduct matters.
- Offer strategic guidance on complex regulatory and coronial cases.
- Prepare cases for hearings, including drafting submissions, witness statements, and legal arguments.
- Collaborate with internal teams and external counsel to ensure robust case management.
- Stay updated on developments in healthcare regulation and coronial law.
- Ensure compliance with relevant legal frameworks governing pharmacists and other healthcare professionals.
- Work effectively within a multidisciplinary team to deliver high-quality service to members under pressure.
About You:
- Qualified Solicitor with a minimum of 3 PQE.
- Proven experience in regulatory law and inquest advocacy, ideally within a professional discipline.
- Strong understanding of the legal frameworks governing healthcare professionals.
- Excellent advocacy, drafting, and negotiation skills.
- Ability to manage a varied caseload with professionalism, empathy, and attention to detail.
- A collaborative mindset with the ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
