Job Description
Job Title: Regulatory Information & Enforcement Analyst

This is an exciting new role at Thames Water, offering the opportunity to contribute to the company's mitigation of enforcement risk related to water discharge non-compliance and pollution incidents.

You will be part of a team responding to the Environment Agency (EA) through various communication channels. This high-profile role involves collaboration with our legal team at Eversheds Sutherland and the Environment Agency, providing exposure across all levels of the business and contributing to the wider environmental function.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct extensive email and document searches across company systems in response to information requests from the EA.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders and Eversheds to determine the relevance of search findings.
  • Assist Enforcement Advisors in preparing documents for submission to the EA within regulatory deadlines.
  • Support the preparation of mitigation and defense evidence through interrogation of company records, used in communications with Eversheds, senior management, and regulators.
  • Chair and facilitate meetings with information providers, ensuring preparedness and clarity of purpose.
Location and Working Pattern

Base location: Hybrid - approximately two days a week at Clearwater Court, Vastern Rd, Reading.

Working hours: Flexible options available, to be discussed at interview.

Additional Requirements

Ability to travel across Thames Water sites for training and team activities.

Candidate Requirements
  • Experience in IT and extensive database searching.
  • Level 3 higher education qualification in IT or equivalent.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and SharePoint.
  • Experience with AI search systems.
  • Relevant sector experience, especially in wastewater or clean water processes, is advantageous.
  • Experience working with legal privilege is desirable.

  • Salary: £30,400 - £35,000 per annum, depending on experience.
  • Annual leave: 26 days, increasing to 30 with service, plus bank holidays.
