REGULATORY COMPLIANCE AND LIAISON SPECIALIST


Main tasks:

  • Evaluate the regulatory compliance of (product) security policies and procedures the impact of legal and regulatory changes.
  • Develop strategies to transpose laws and regulations into (product) security (management system).
  • Draft, proofread, and prepare legal documents such as contracts and templates related to security topics.
  • Develop and strengthen relationships with government officials and industry associations related to security topics for influencing legislation and regulatory decisions.
  • Research and understand government policies, regulations, and laws related to security topics.


Additional tasks:

  • Assist in resolving conflicts between laws, regulations, policies and standards, or procedures.
  • Develop and propose staff awareness training to achieve compliance and foster the (product) security culture within the organization.
  • Perform other legal support tasks as required.
  • Attend meetings and hearings with legislators and regulators.


Requirements:

  • Second level university degree in law or international relations (with a cybersecurity focus desired)
  • Cybersecurity certifications or trainings (desirable)
  • Understanding of the business strategy, models and products and ability to factor into legal, regulatory and standards' requirements.
  • Knowledge of cybersecurity laws and regulations
  • Knowledge of cybersecurity standards and best practices
  • Knowledge of government and political processes
  • Excellent research, writing, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to craft persuasive arguments and mobilize support.
  • Ability to work independently.
