Our client is seeking a motivated and skilled Registrar in Neurology to join their progressive neurology department.
This post offers extensive clinical experience across outpatient neurology clinics, acute inpatient consultations, hyperacute stroke care, EEG/EMG neurophysiology services, and General Internal Medicine on-call duties.
Key ResponsibilitiesInpatient & Consultative Care: Provide expert neurological assessments for ward admissions and specialty consults across acute medical, surgical, and ICU wards under consultant supervision.
Outpatient Clinics: Manage dedicated sub-specialty clinics (e.g., epilepsy, multiple sclerosis, movement disorders, headache, and neuromuscular conditions).
Acute Stroke & Emergency Care: Participate in rapid-access stroke pathways, acute thrombolysis/thrombectomy calls, and neurological emergency management.
On-Call Rota: Participate in the Registrar General Internal Medicine (GIM) or specialty neurology un-social hours on-call rota.
Diagnostics & Multidisciplinary Work: Interpret neuroimaging (CT/MRI) and neurophysiological investigations alongside neuroradiologists and multidisciplinary therapy teams.
Education & Clinical Governance: Supervise medical SHOs, interns, and students, while actively leading clinical audits, journal clubs, and morbidity & mortality meetings.
Registration: General or Specialist Registration with the Irish Medical Council (IMC) at the time of commencement.
Qualifications: MB BCh BAO (or equivalent medical degree); completion of Core Medical Training (MRCPI / MRCP or equivalent is highly desirable).
Experience: Minimum of 3-4 years post-qualification clinical experience, including dedicated training in General Internal Medicine and Neurology.
Certifications: Valid Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification.
Language Proficiency: Demonstrated English language competency meeting HSE standard requirements (IELTS / OET if applicable).
