Registrar - Oncology

Job Overview

We are currently seeking Registrar - Oncology to join Bon Secours Health System. This is a full time role based in Cork, County Cork.

This position falls under the Care Home sector and offers a competitive pay range of Negotiable.

Key Responsibilities

• Participate on the service for all aspects of patient-care, including H&P; Notes and completion of patient record to meet all JCI requirements.
• Review all investigations, including radiology, laboratory, microbiology, pathology, and haematology.
• Conduct formal presentations of all new patients during rounds.
• Review cases before rounds with the consultant.
• Present other inpatients as encouraged.
• Handle all direct acute admissions to the Oncology unit or oversee the SHO on duty.
• Make ward rounds independent of the Consultant Oncologists.
• Ensure follow-up and review of all labs/x-rays/scans ordered during rounds.
• Follow-up of all critically ill patients.
• Develop palliative-care/hospice plans.
• Cooperate with the oncology liaison nurse and other nurse specialists involved.
• Write comprehensive admission notes or review Senior House Officers' admission notes on all new patients.
• Use pre-printed chemotherapy orders and write full orders with direct guidance from the Consultant Oncologist.
