DescriptionPriory Hospital Woodbourne are looking for a Registered Psychologist to join the team. This is a full time role working 37.5 hours per week. Priory Hospital Woodbourne, located in a peaceful and picturesque suburb of South West Birmingham, is a specialised addiction rehab centre, providing expert treatment for a range of addictions, including alcohol, drugs and support for behavioural addictions.
What you'll be doingYou'll be part of a dedicated and compassionate team, all working together to ensure the smooth running of the hospital and to support the wellbeing of our patients. While your role doesn't involve providing direct care, your contribution is vital in helping to maintain a safe, comfortable, and welcoming environment for everyone. Whether you're assisting with day-to-day operations, keeping things organised, or ensuring our spaces are well looked after, your support plays an important part in creating a positive experience for those who live and work here. As a core member of both the Therapy Team and MDT, you will:
- Provide comprehensive psychological assessments, formulations, and reports.
- Deliver evidence-based individual and group interventions (e.g., CBT, DBT-informed, ACT, Schema Therapy).
- Contribute to care planning and risk management through collaborative MDT discussions.
- Offer clinical guidance to nursing, occupational therapy, and medical colleagues to promote a psychologically-informed environment.
- Facilitate reflective practice sessions, staff training, and contribute to service development. Work closely with psychiatrists, nurses, dietitians, and other professionals to ensure holistic care for patients with complex needs

What you'll bring to the roleOur work is rewarding but can be challenging, so resilience is key. No two days are the same! We are seeking an HCPC Registered Psychologist (Clinical or Counselling) with experience working in inpatient mental health settings, ideally with exposure to acute services and/or eating disorder care. The successful candidate will demonstrate strong skills in assessment, formulation, and the delivery of evidence-based interventions. Experience or training in specialist approaches for eating disorders-such as MANTRA, CBT-E, DBT, or FBT-and the ability to apply these within multidisciplinary inpatient or community settings would be highly desirable. The role requires excellent collaboration skills, the resilience to thrive in challenging situations, and a commitment to reflective practice, supervision, and ongoing professional development.
