Through Business Banking (BB) our global network offers comprehensive support and services to businesses in the SME market. From expanding overseas to managing the cash and trade flows of an established enterprise, the Business Banking team of Relationship Managers and Product Specialists provides a range of end to end solutions designed to help small businesses reach their potential.

We are seeking a customer focused and commercially minded person to join this team in the role of Regional Manager.

The Regional Manager role manages a team of Relationship Managers (RMs) or Portfolio Managers serving customers and is responsible for managing and coaching the team for improved performance and delivering business objectives at a team level. This role may be responsible for a small portfolio of customers.

Your responsibilities will include:
  • Observe, assist, prepare and coach Relationship or Portfolio Managers to enrich engagement with customers, build an understanding of the client's business, identifying customer needs and delivering fair outcomes, and, ensure rigorous Customer Due Diligence and maximum mutual commercial benefits
  • Develop a sustainable business growth strategy, focusing the team on maximising the depth and breadth of existing client relationships, with an awareness of cultivating new-to-bank opportunities, whilst leveraging our network
  • Collaborate with colleagues to deliver appropriate needs-based solutions for customers and drive appropriate financial focus of team to enhance revenue growth through both current and new-to-bank clients
  • When appropriate, engage in value-adding discussions with high priority clients to facilitate business execution or assist in managing sensitive risk issues
  • Manage internal profile (credit risk approvers, peers, product partners, back office, FCC Officer) to facilitate execution of client deals, referrals and management of risk issues
  • Confidently manage financial crime risk throughout the client lifecycle by identifying, assessing, accepting, monitoring, escalating and mitigating risk , ensuring operational risk and policies are adhered to, reporting any breaches in accordance with local procedure
The ideal candidate for this role will have:
  • Experience of gathering, analysing and interpreting comprehensive information in order to provide solutions that are commercially viable and sustainable.
  • Ability to prioritise and manage business tasks with a flexible and adaptable management style with experience of developing yourself and others
  • Able to influence and build positive working relationships with our customers, colleagues and stakeholders, managing stakeholders at all levels, and, an ability to communicate with impact, ensuring complex information is articulated in a meaningful way to wide and varied audience
  • A comprehensive understanding of risk management and proven experience of ensuring own/others' compliance with relevant regulatory processes
  • Planning and organisational skills to Identify risk and determine how to mitigate the risk, manage the unexpected as well as anticipated events
  • Develops and uses financial and management information to better understand and manage their Clients businesses and financial needs with a broad understanding of financial budgets/statements/models and analysing data effectively for planning, forecasting and reporting
