Job Description 3 month Contract With A Local Authority

Job Purpose

To safely drive and operate a refuse collection vehicle (HGV) as part of a waste collection crew, ensuring efficient and timely collection of waste and recycling across designated routes while maintaining high standards of safety and compliance.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate and drive a refuse collection vehicle (HGV) on scheduled collection routes
• Work as part of a team to complete daily waste and recycling collections
• Ensure the safe and efficient operation of the vehicle at all times
• Conduct daily vehicle checks prior to use
• Report any mechanical defects, issues, or incidents promptly
• Follow all health and safety procedures and road regulations
• Adapt to operational needs, including working across both depot locations

Requirements

• Valid Driver CPC and Digital Tachograph Card
• Previous experience in a similar driving or waste collection role (desirable)
• Strong awareness of health and safety practices
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team
• Flexible and reliable, with willingness to work ad-hoc hours and across multiple depots

Additional Information

• 37 Hours per Week (not guaranteed some weeks, but majority will)
• Bi-weekly Payments
• Must be able to cover both depots - as per operational needs: Robinson Way Depot, Telford Way Ind. Est, Kettering, NN16 8PP Trafalgar House Depot, Wellingborough NN8 4FR
