Recycling Attendant Newtownards

Location: Newtownards HRC

Hours: 36 per week

(Monday - Thursday 08:00 - 17:00)
Contract: Temporary

About the Role

We're looking for a dependable and community minded recycling attendant to join our team in Newtownards. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working outdoors, engaging with the public, and contributing to a cleaner, greener environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Site supervision - Maintain a safe, clean, and well organised recycling facility.
• Customer assistance - Help residents sort and dispose of waste correctly, offering friendly guidance.
• Waste management - Monitor containers, ensure proper segregation, and report contamination issues.
• Health & safety compliance - Follow all safety procedures and report hazards promptly.
• Equipment upkeep - Carry out basic maintenance and ensure tools and machinery are used safely.

What We're Looking For

• Strong communication skills and a helpful attitude
• Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions
• Basic understanding of recycling and waste handling procedures (training provided)
• Reliability and punctuality
• Physical fitness to carry out manual handling tasks
