Recovery Worker - Substance Misuse

Location: Hatfield, Hertfordshire. Contract: 3 Months. Hours: Full-time, Monday-Friday. Pay: From £16.00 per hour Umbrella - pay may be increased depending on relevant direct Recovery Worker experience. Start: ASAP.

About the Role

We are looking for an experienced Recovery Worker to join a specialist substance misuse service in Hatfield on an initial 3-month contract. You will support service users throughout their recovery journey, working as part of a multi-disciplinary team to reduce drug and alcohol-related harm and promote long-term recovery.

Key Responsibilities

• Support service users from assessment through treatment and recovery.
• Complete screening, assessments and risk assessments.
• Manage a caseload and develop person-centred recovery plans.
• Deliver psychosocial interventions and motivational support.
• Provide harm-reduction advice and support.
• Make appropriate referrals to partner services.
• Advocate for service users and help overcome barriers to support.
• Support social reintegration, resilience and independence.
• Work effectively with the wider multi-disciplinary team.
• Maintain accurate and confidential case records.

About You

• Direct experience within a Recovery Worker, Drug & Alcohol or Substance Misuse role.
• Experience managing a caseload and completing assessments.
• Knowledge of recovery and harm-reduction approaches.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• A person-centred, non-judgemental approach.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
