Receptionist - Fixed TermThe closing date is 31 May 2026.
An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Ward Clinical Administration Team providing a patient focussed, high quality and complete administrative support service to enable patient flow. The post will be based on a ward but there is the expectation that you may need to work across different wards to suit the needs of the Trust. You will interact with patients and relatives as well as staff based at Royal Papworth Hospital. You will be an organised, efficient and motivated individual who is trustworthy and reliable. You must be able to be adaptable within your work role to support the team in all aspects of ward administrative cover.
This role is offered on a 9 month fixed term contract.
Hours: 7 am to 3 pm and 11 am to 6 pm to include weekends.

Main duties of the jobThe key duties of the role are to assist with the coordination of patient activity through the wards by the completion of designated admission and discharge. This includes following Trust standards for meeting and greeting patients, recording information, and escalating any delays to the Patient Flow Facilitator.
You will need keyboard skills and an aptitude for using a variety of IT systems together with a degree of flexibility with your working hours. You will be working as part of a friendly supportive team and play an important part in providing administrative support to clinical areas.
Qualifications- Numeracy and Literacy
- NVQ II in Administration or Customer Service or equivalent qualification or experience
- European Computer Driving License (ECDL) or equivalent qualification or experience
- Previous experience of using Microsoft Office Applications
- Previous experience of working in a customer facing role
- The ability to communicate basic or sensitive information to colleagues, patients and relatives
- The ability to pay close attention to detail in written and electronic communication and information storagei>
- The ability to work as part of a multi disciplinary team to ensure high quality administrative support
- Able to organise, prioritise and adjust own workload in relation to the priorities of the department on a daily basis
- The ability to suggest changes to own practice
- Demonstrates personal duty of care in relation to the safe use of equipment and other resources
- Maintains the quality in own work
- Previous experience of working in an office environment
- Previous experience of working in the NHS
- Knowledge or RTT requirements

- Able to work early, late, weekends and some Bank Holidays.
