Reception Teaching Assistant

Vision for Education are currently recruiting for a full-time Reception Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming primary school in Telford. This is an excellent opportunity for a Teaching Assistant with previous Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) experience who is passionate about supporting young children in their first years of school.
The RoleAs a Reception Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with the class teacher to support children across the EYFS curriculum. You will play an important role in helping pupils settle into school, develop their confidence and build the skills they need for a successful start to their education.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Supporting children across the Reception classroom and EYFS provision.
- Providing 1:1 and small-group support where required.
- Supporting children's learning through play-based activities.
- Helping develop children's communication, language and social skills.
- Supporting early phonics, literacy and numeracy activities.
- Assisting with classroom routines, transitions and daily activities.
- Promoting positive behaviour and encouraging independence.
- Working closely with the class teacher and wider school team.
- Creating a safe, nurturing and engaging learning environment.

RequirementsThe successful Reception Teaching Assistant will ideally have:
- Previous experience working within EYFS or a Reception setting.
- Experience supporting young children in a school, nursery or childcare environment.
- A good understanding of the EYFS framework and play-based learning.
- A patient, nurturing and enthusiastic approach.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- The ability to support children both individually and in small groups.
- A genuine passion for supporting children's development and learning.
- Two satisfactory references.
- An Enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service, or willingness to apply for one.
