Benevolent Grants Manager - RCN Foundation (RCN02745). Fixed term contract until January 2027 (maternity leave cover). 35 hours per week, hybrid working at RCN UK HQ. Salary: £54,537 including inner London weighting of £5,262.
Responsibilities- Manage the day-to-day Benevolent Service, including leading the Benevolent Service Team and supporting assessment of applications and grant decisions.
- Monitor trends in application rates and respond to these trends to support beneficiaries in a timely manner.
- Monitor and report on outcomes and impact of the service; identify trends in data and the wider economic landscape.
- Ensure the online application portal on the CRM is used to its full potential to manage all grant applications.
- Provide support to individuals through a comprehensive signposting hub, kept up-to-date and tailored to nursing and midwifery needs.
- Continue development of the digital benevolent grant-making service and lead on the development of a bespoke signposting hub to complement this approach.
- Demonstrate exceptional customer service and apply in-depth knowledge of hardship and benevolence across more than one country in the UK.
- Manage resources within a small team to balance team wellbeing, beneficiary needs and business requirements, which may vary day-to-day.
- Prepare reports, analyse data for trends, and present concise information to stakeholders.
- Significant experience working in grant-making charities and managing benevolent services, including grant-making activity and evaluating impact.
- Knowledge of best practices in hardship support across multiple UK jurisdictions.
- Ability to work effectively in a small team and respond swiftly to demand, including responses to external factors such as cost-of-living pressures.
- Experience in grant management to support individuals with empathy, professionalism and efficiency.
- Experience in report writing and data analysis to identify trends and present findings to stakeholders.
- Strong customer focus, accuracy and a proactive attitude.
- Included salary: £49,275 plus £5,262 London weighting per annum; total £54,537.
